About Leesa
It’ll be quicker to tell you what I haven’t done. My USPs have got to be versatility and adaptability. No matter which industry I’ve dipped into over the past 14 years, the company has always been at the smaller end of the spectrum.
Even while working with companies like the Tree of Life who had 30+ stores – the head office team was small and I believe it’s experiences like this that have made me a versatile creative with the ability to adapt to a challenge – always, somehow, pulling the right team members together at the right time, communicating efficiently and managing tight budgets. When I’ve worked with larger companies on short-term freelance contracts, I have been able to slot into whatever project they need me to work on.
When it comes to design I have done it all – from print to packaging, UI/UX design (app, ecomm, brochure, landing pages) to email design, social media graphics, video, content creation and everything in between. I enjoy being on tools alongside the design team, setting the visual language and top-level copywriting for campaigns. If I'm not on tools, I'm meeting with stakeholders or new creatives for collaborations, researching and concepting, creating moodboards and briefs and directing shoots with talented teams.
On a set, in my career I have done everything from steaming to styling and set-dressing, art directing to photography/videography and retouching. I am a planner by nature and will always do my best to keep everything on schedule and budget, delivering assets of the highest possible standard that everyone can be proud of.
Outside of my professional career, I have co-founded a retail business in the beer industry that we operated for 5 years before successfully selling it and I am proud to say it’s still going strong. I am a qualified florist and have been teaching floral workshops on and off for 6 years, stemming from a craft blog I co-founded.
Up until July 2022, I was leading a small but talented creative team at London-based legwear brand, Hedoine. An e-commerce scale-up with a focus on B2C but are now stocked in two department stores – Selfridges (London) and KaDeWe (Berlin). We're incredibly proud of our world first product: biodegradable and ladder-resistant tights. Yes, both.
I completed my WSET 2 & 3 and completed my first wine harvest in Summer ‘22 in France for zero/zero winery Ferme L’Apogee. Upon arriving back in Australia, I moved to the Hunter Valley and have been working as the marketing manager for Thomas Wines.
